Pros

Love working with the customers and being a part of their planning process. There is room for movement in the company, I have seen people promote up. Working with some fantastic people and meeting fun new people every day.

Cons

Wow where to start. I have seen so many changes in the time I have been with this company, taking commission away for an hourly wage was a big mistake. You took the hunger away, now your best stylists have no reason to work every weekend. Grow conversations are great, love connecting and seeing from a second pair of eyes where I can improve, but, PAs are not the motivation you think it is. Just like having some of the higher ups take a victory tour to berate managers that just made it through the bankruptcy with threats of firing if they don't start improving their sales. Micro managing and telling us that not having sales because there were no customers is an "excuse"? NO just no. And the unrealistic goals you set to meet bonus? What other company required a 4.9? Out of 5* You keep moving the line when we are at the point we can reach the team bonus so it is again out of reach. Now let's talk about the hours. There is absolutely no work life balance, we used to have preferred scheduling so our days off were the same, now it depends on when the autoscheduler puts us on. We are open too many hours especially if you can't budget enough hours for stylists and csrs to be in the store all the time. You say no one should ever be alone in the store ever, yet we have managers closing alone because we don't have enough hours for stylists or csrs. Does that sound safe? If the pay was closer to an actual living wage and they could get hours I would recommend David's to people because I love what I do.
