Pros

Great insurance, vacation and consistant merit raises. It is a fast pace place you are never bored or without something to work on. If you get a chance to work in an area you are passionate about then you get to really shine and do something you love.

Cons

There is no promotion from within unless you are a white male. If you do get promoted from within expect to get paid at least 20% less than your counterpart hired from the outside. It is a very odd way to cultivate talent. I have seen so many great people walk out the door because of the 'bro' mentality. Once what was a career option for many became a stepping stone.

Pros

It's very tidy, neat, and efficient, as far as employment goes. You go in, work, leave. Same in, same out - day after day.

Cons

They don't tend to promote from within. They like to hire into leads and managers - you're pretty much stuck in the position that you were hired in. You can navigate between sections, but only at the same tier.

Bait and Switch

Pros

Pay was above industry average

Cons

Classic bait and switch recruitment process; training evokes utopian environment and progressive change...very arrogant and also fearful, selfish survival culture, both in stores and corporate office...CEO and upper management rule with a 'do it or else' mentailty and practice...company attempting to become large big box chain, but refuses to implement long-term technology and training to reach goal...all employees are treated as dispensible, and turnover at all store levels is much higher than industry average...Anyone with a long-tern retail career in mind should take a pass
