Pros
Great people to work with. Company is growing fast and performs very well financially. Great place to gain beginner experience.
Cons
Darcars is a great place to work if you work in a department that is profit generating (eg sales or service). Working in accounting you don't get much in return for hard work. They offer very low salaries compared to similar companies in the region and their benefits are not up to par with the area either. You are given 6 sick days a year, 6 paid holidays, vacation varies. For the first year you are given no vacation time whatsoever, any time you take off is unpaid. 1-2 years you get 1 week for the year, 2-5 year you're given 2 weeks each year, after 5 years employment you get 3 weeks per year. 401K match is about nonexistent, when I asked them to explain it to me, they could hardly even understand it. Medical insurance is extremely high, as well. Moving on from benefits, the working environment is rather poor. There is no employee morale, every employee in the department always said they wanted to go work somewhere else, mostly because management doesn't show any recognition for hard work. Your best chance of getting promoted is to kiss butt or be a family member or family friend. If you do manage to get promoted and not be a friend or family then expect to be worked to the bone. The executive team doesn't do much, with exception to two executive team members and the work falls down the chain. Management looks down on lower employees too; making it clear that they are not as mighty and make them feel they are not as intelligent, which can be seen in the language used on employees. Overall, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone in a nonprofit generating department, like accounting, unless you're looking for experience in the start of your career.
