Going in the Wrong Direction

Pros

Good benefits, well-respected in some industries, decent work/life balance

Cons

Only longer tenured employees who are "Crowe grown" get to senior leadership positions. They do not value outside industry expertise of "experienced" hires. If you don't learn how to play the Crowe way, you are doomed. Significant disparity in compensation with partners making much more $, staff through director levels are paid well below market rates and need to pretty much beg for small salary increases and bonuses. Given the lack of strong leadership in the pipeline, there is not much hope for improvement in the near future = just more long-tenured Crowe kool aid drinkers moving onto their board and C-suite.

Pros

Wide range of accounting learning experience within their practice. Large amount of hands-on experiences with complex issues and face-to-face client engagement. Great health benefits and work from home is a nice option.

Cons

Impossible expectations on completing work, whenever concerns are raised, management seems indifferent. Overworked management that lead to them not being able to answer questions due to time and the staff level not wanting their jobs/responsibility due to their exhaustion(thus leaving the firm). Office management sharing personal information/gossip that causes distrust among staff. Management that will not take ownership of their own mistakes or missed deadlines and continually blame staff. Whenever people leave firm, no changes are considered or implemented.

Pros

Some people were great to work with. They weren't there for long though. The company rewards bad behaviour.

Cons

Culture is horrendous. Management/corporate/HR do not care about employees' wellbeing at all. When issues are raised the solution will always be to 'suck it up'.
