Laid Back and Enjoyable Learning Environment

Pros

The environment is very laid back and open, although in the last 6 years it's grown more stressful and corporate-like. The management team takes work-life balance pretty seriously, usually discourages overtime, and allows employees to work from home regularly. Base compensation is fair for the region. There are only a few departments in which employees work over 40 hours a week. The super casual culture is the most attractive element of working there.

Cons

Growing pains. The fast growth of the company meant they didn't have many processes in place when their sales took off. No one knew it would be this successful this fast. We had to adapt. It's been painful, but we did it. Now on the other side of it, we have to keep it fresh. Instead, benefits are getting worse every year and yet they tell us they are improving. Bonuses are not what they used to be. There seems to be a general air of corporate tension in a company that used to feel small and warm. Very little seems to get done due to meetings all the time.

Pros

Starting 5 years ago was awesome. The moral of the company was high and upper management actually managed. Working with customers and always staying busy is great.

Cons

If you are in the "San Diego/Colorado" district, be prepared to do the work for your DM. She will not fight for you or her team and you will not get any positive feedback. You will be forced to work 20 hour days and 7 days of the week if you don't put your foot down. Taking things to HR does nothing but put you in the hot seat. And forget about confidentiality. It does not exist. Pay for you and people on your same level (manager, assistant manager, team lead...) will be posted "by mistake" many times throughout the year. Too many items to complete for labor to get cut and then DM will reprimand when items are not complete bc you put the customer first...make up your mind DM.
