The products really make a difference. The people are really dedicated. Opportunities to those willing to work for them. Good Pay and Benefits.

Cons

Company is practically clueless when it comes to New Product Development. Some departments and managers have communication issues and like to play politics.

Pros

Covidien has great benefits and managment is understanding when employees need to take time off. There is also an intense focus on quality which promotes a high level of employee integrity. Co-workers where great to work with!

Cons

Some salaries are far below par and it can be a real fight to get promoted. Promotions often have unwritten time requirements resulting in people getting stuck in the same position for many many years with a promised promotion always just out of reach. Outside candidates are often promoted over internal applicants. There is also very little incentive to excel. During performance reviews EVERYONE get "meets expectations" regardless of actual performance.

It is a fast growing company with a lot of great technologies and a lot of capital. Since the split from Tyco, money is actually being spent to grow

Cons

There are a number of people who have been here for decades and do not want change - working with them on projects can be challenging
