      COVIDIEN is satisfactory for steady employment. Key individuals on the leadership team keep me motivated here.

      Pros

      Global employment opportunities are in abundance. Being a financially oriented company has provided me more perspective into the business realm of medical device, instead of working for medical device companies that are more clinically oriented. Key members of the leadership team at my legacy company were retained by COVIDIEN and they are still employed and mentoring me.

      Cons

      COVIDIEN does not compensate their employees very well at all. Some of my colleagues feel very disposable. This type employee management does not inspire a positive work culture. The company is a sprawling mass and sometimes it's hard to even know where the opportunities are because so little visibility is available.

      Pros

      There are some great, motivated people working there. With the right managers, the opportunity for development is fantastic. Work/life balance is great (again with the right manager).

      Cons

      Silos and lack of goal alignment make working with other functions difficult. Constant change hinders progress. Unmotivated people are allowed to slide by and make things difficult. Lack of decision making slows/delays all development progress and is demotivating for teams.
