      Covidien is a disaster waiting to happen

      Pros

      Most of the people at Covidien are great to work with. Hours and location of work are very flexible depending on you position within the company.

      Cons

      Company is very unorganized. Each plant is silo'd from the others with very little communication in between plants. Covidien does not follow many FDA and OSHA regulations. They know this and refuse to fix most of them. THere are no processes, everything there is tribal knowledge at best.

      Many of the associates would like to do more

      Cons

      Company does not allow initiative. Follow old rules and methods and do not rock the boat. Thus lots of turnover in 2010

      Pros

      6% 401K match, employee stock purchase program, 3 weeks of vacation.

      Cons

      Zero opportunity for advancement, bonus payout is a joke, toxic finger-pointing culture, pay raises that do no keep up with inflation, certain members of senior management are unethical and incompetent. Overall this is a dead end job at a company that invests absolutely nothing in its employees.
