Work-life balance is definitely a struggle for anyone with a job tied to production (process engineering, production management, maintenance, operators, etc) since some lines run around the clock and on weekends and schedules are tight. Some middle managers are oriented toward pointing fingers or shooting the messenger instead of solving systemic problems.

The management and most people need to retire. They are living in the past and are scared and nervous about change and young blood coming in and taking over. The management in SAS is condescending, passive aggressive and un truthful. It seems like Covidien also hires everyone from Asia and India so that no one complains about the BS that goes on. I swear there are maybe a handful of natural born US citizens in the company. I am all for diversity but you can tell when a company hires everyone from over seas because they dont want people to rock the boat. It s a company that needs to adapt and the management and leadership is doing a terrible job at that. Once they get with the times and sme of the 80% of employees that are over 62 start retiring I think things will get better.
