As a former applicant and potential employee of Coop, I am sorry to say that my experience with this company was extremely disappointing. From initial contact to termination, I was not treated with respect by Coop and did not feel valued. I applied for a position in the IT department and was invited online for an interview. After a trial day, I realized that I could not take advantage of the company's home office offer due to my daily three-hour commute. Although I was assured that they would review on a case-by-case basis, I was later told that I would need to be in the office four days a week. This was not consistent with what I had previously been told. On my first day of work, I was rudely greeted by Coop and directed to another workstation without any organization or information about the orientation process. Although I had previously stated that I needed to stay in my current living situation for the time being, I was subsequently told to find an apartment at the work location immediately. Otherwise, they would want to give me a termination agreement. I was also requested and issued a work permit for my current residence by the HR department. I believe that sometimes it is better to pay attention to the reviews on Kununu and Glassdoor, and that is why I am writing this text about my experience. When I pointed out in a conversation with HR and my team leader that I had been promised something different before, I was attacked and supposedly denied what had been discussed before. Then they wanted me to stay the day and the next 7 days to sign a termination agreement, which I refused to do, but I received a notice of termination the same day without comment. I must say that I am disappointed in Coop and would not recommend anyone to apply or work there. The company's behavior towards its potential and former employees was unprofessional and disrespectful, which shows me that there is an obvious lack of human interaction and appreciation in this company.
