Toxic culture

Pros

A fun brand to say you work for, some great perks and talented creatives.

Cons

The culture unfortunately is very toxic, and people you thought you could trust will stab you in the back. The creatives who work here bring a lot more drama than a hard work ethic or experience. I can't believe how many people were called "directors" and they are so immature, clueless and treat their jobs like a popularity contest. The company is trying so hard to appeal to younger crowd that unfortunately they let that age group make business decisions, which is a huge mistake. Sometimes I feel like I'm working in a sorority vs a professional workplace. People like to talk over others to to prove themselves, versus actually listening to the smart people in the room. It's sad really, because it's a great brand with bad leadership and no real promotions for the people who work hard. My manager is condescending, critical, and a micro-manager. She never wanted to me to grow in my role even though she always claimed to have my back. I've never worked for a company with such bad management.

Pretty Good

Pros

It's a cool company to work for. The work culture is pretty laid back and there are some perks that come with being part of the Nike family (ESPP, a generous paid parental leave benefit, summer Fridays, etc.)

Cons

The company has been performing poorly due to decisions made by Nike leadership. It's led to layoffs and that has had a negative effect on morale. Unless you're willing to relocate to Nike, it's difficult to grow within the organization.
