Pros

Great work environment. Company culture endeavors to conceptualize work-life balance.

Cons

Project Mangers lack ownership and trade experience, so much they depend on the knowledge of seasoned technicians for direction and guidance, attributing to defensive behavior and chronic finger-pointing. The acceptable practice of discrediting others in order to value themselves runs rampant behind closed doors.

Pros

Flexible Schedule, Competitive Benefits, Salaray, PTO etc

Cons

Convergint is a company that prides itself on "values." It's a cookie cutter message that every company has. Their mission statement or values, what we stand for etc. Unfortunately this company has shown some of the worst values I have come across in my professional journey. This review is a warning for anyone researching this company. My personal story is I was a field service technician at a stable job. This company recruited me for a Design Engineering role. The manager knew I was new to design work with only a year of experience in it, and assured me I would be given time to learn and grow into the role with full support. Things were going well, I was progressing, and delivering the results asked of me. Randomly after four and half months I was informed "I didn't have the skillset needed to help the team." Believe you me I was absolutely floored. Colleagues couldn't believe it either. The one positive was I was given two months grace period to find new work. Not everything with this company is bad. Like every company there is good and bad to it. However know that is company is not above completely wrecking someone's stability. They have the capacity to pull you from a stable situation and into a very unpredictable chaotic environment. Before accepting anything make 100% sure you are working with people that will keep their word and practice good Business Ehtics.

Micromanaging Nightmare

Pros

Training budget has improved over the years and safety is taken seriously.

Cons

Extreme micromanaging, office staff have glorified perks while field workers are pushed like slaves, no more Christmas parties or team building, salaries barely on par with average, local upper management afraid to stand up to corporate management, sales/profit margins put forth by corporate are NOT attainable so bonuses are kept to a minimum IF even considered, ALL staff is expected to be available 24/7, upper mgt. runs like a "good old boys club", everyone is nice to your face but stabs you in the back when you're not around, health insurance package is the cheapest they could find with high deductibles/out of pocket, have to jump through hoops to run to Home Depot if you need additional installation materials, install guys are labeled "field warriors" to make them feel good rather than showing true appreciation, warehouse and warehouse staff VERY disorganized, specs on jobsites never met 100%, everyone is always pointing fingers, sales team never gives enough time/labor on projects, sales team in general are two-faced (watch your back), the company "culture" is almost cult-like, and overall camaraderie is just not there.
