Pros

After 5 years, here are some of the pros: + possibility to meet great colleagues and open minded people; + the workflow is dynamic and there are periods when a lot of changes are going on; + most people are young and the age gap is almost non-existent; + the working medium is professional - people know what they are doing, and if you don't know what to do, they will help you; + it's not about flattery (like in some small companies; I tried to use a nice word), but about actual results; + you get to learn things which you couldn't in a small company (because you interact with lots of disciplines and people, you won't be limited to doing only <insert_generic_SWDev_job_here>);

Cons

and cons.... - technology is outdated - being a big corporation, things change slowly on this part; - salaries are pretty small; - work can be sometimes repetitive; - upper management can't handle clients and projects because they always seek the biggest profit - this has detrimental effects in the long term; ----- being a german company, with german management, german way of thinking, and german style of doing business, they are losing big parts of the market; due to the industry inertia, the company doesn't try new things, because "nobody would buy that" - and now, companies like tesla will simply destroy this kind of competition, unless they start acting yesterday...

Pros

Perfect environment to start or to boost your professional career. Fresh and highly motivated team with a good blend of vast experience and new additions to the topic of automotive engineering. Great opportunity to work with and to shape top technology for autonomous driving. Being a full part and at the forefront of the current hype in the automotive industry is amazing. Even as a starter you are engaged and involved from day one. Hands-on experience as well as high level skills are passed on very efficiently. Within brief period of time you are a full member of the world-wide Continental family. The core values are not just there by definition, but are really lived in daily work. Great commitment from the local managers being a perfect role model and living authentically the true work ethics of engineering. The location is amazing. Next to the pacific ocean just on the bluff. Great benefits. Above average payment and every day free lunch. Continental is really investing in its employees and is looking for a long term commitment. Aside from your technical knowledge there is a big focus on training soft skills in order to foster good team work, but also to share feedback openly. Thus efficiently working together with a lot of positive motivation and fun is ensured. Although Continental is a German based company, they are striving with diversity. Especially at this location it feels more like a start-up, but with the benefit of a well established company culture, absolute stable financing, professional processes and a down to earth local management.

Cons

There are simply no downsides. Perfect environment to strive for success. Definitely a long term commitment for a mutual fruitful employer - employee relationship. The only negative aspect is: it can't get any better in any other location or with any other technology or with any other company. So whenever you decide to move on for any non-work related reason, you are trapped. You will have a tough time to find something comparable to that. Reasons for moving on include, e.g. living in the area close to this location is kind of expensive, so if you planning on having a big house and a big family. That is tough even with the over average payment from the employer...

Pros

The technologies involved and the kind of colleagues you work with. Good place to gain a great knowledge about the automotive software development. Exposure to new projects and new features that are coming in the car.

Cons

Poor HR team and management You get paid less when compared to other companies in Singapore. HR attracts developers saying there will be a travel to Germany (not true in most cases) Give Hope and let you down is commonly observed
