      Thank you for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed the people, culture, technology, commitment to quality and office amenities. We don't compete on salary, because we believe it doesn't attract the people we love working shoulder to shoulder with every day. We want people who want to work with us because of the culture, client work and cutting edge technologies. We do offer a generous equity sharing program, which we can do because we're 100% employee owned. We also review compensation for the entire company twice a year. We have a 9 - 6 schedule because we want to balance the intensity necessary to build the best products, with the benefits of having a fulfilling personal life. We want people to be able to do great work in the office, and not need to take it home with them. We will do a better job of communicating why we have these work hours, and the importance of a balanced life. Great idea to develop some intern/co-op only activities.       Working at Connected Lab...

      Pros

      Connected Lab is genuinely a very exciting place to work. Organizational structure is very flat. It is the kind of place when anyone can have a lot of impact in positively effecting the company, all the way from a coop to the CEO. It's a great place to work if you are ambitious and looking to get a lot of experience and learn quickly from those around you. There are many opportunities at connected lab that just wouldn't exist for employees in a more corporate organizational model. Overall an exciting and positive work environment. Also has really fun work events and company outings. The office has a fun atmosphere with lots of good conversation (and ping pong).

      Cons

      The gender diversity on the engineering team is low right now, but it's something the management team has been actively improving. Sometimes the company outings end up at bars/clubs with drinking, which is not everyones cup of tea. Though the new office is much bigger and nicer than the old location it is still a little rough around the edges in some spots. but this is understandable since the company did move in relatively recently.

We believe not just in equality of opportunity for everyone, but that the best thinking comes from a diverse set of perspectives working together to find the right answers. While drinking does happen, it will never be the focus. We believe that having fun means people can still keep their health and personal values.
