Pros

Decent pay. they will hire anyone. no physical activity required. 75% of support staff is actually helpful.

Cons

Training is absolutely terrible! They definitely throw you to the wolves when you start production and all you can do is hope your supervisor is present and/or in a good enough mood to give you the help you need. No one is ever ready to take calls and unfortunately the customer suffers until the advisor figures out what to do or even where to start. It took me over a month in production to feel any amount of comfort helping people. Easy to get fired if your attendance is poor. The higher up support staff is literally useless. The only thing they are good at is telling you to take another call. The place is full of hypocrisy. support staff is very strict about the rules such as dress code unless the offender is support staff him or herself ofcourse. I was forced to take a promotion and support more lines of business even though I expressed my discomfort with the line of business I was already supporting. Even though I was forced into the promotion, I have yet to see the raise for it and it has been almost a month. It is made known that you are easily replaceable so more often than not you get bullied into doing exactly what support staff wants you to do.

Pros

If you want to be an agent for change, this is for you. As those who don't want to "get with the program" leave, opportunities will open up for those who stay. (Career progression is reactive, not proactive.) Shifting work from the US to India creates many opportunities for India employees, as long as the compensation/benefits package is competitive. Corporate mandates that attempt to foster a "One Conduent" culture can unify a broad and diverse workforce if executed in a way that employees will perceive that there are benefits to them personally.

Cons

If you can't tolerate an enormous amount of change, this is not for you. As those who don't want to "get with the program" leave, the burden to "pick up the slack" often falls to those who stay. (Succession planning is reactive, not proactive.) Shifting work from the US to India at an unreasonable and risky pace with little consideration for the impact on clients is a dangerous way to run a business. Corporate mandates that attempt to foster a "One Conduent" culture can be demoralizing for those employees who just view the changes as take-aways.

Thank you for your feedback. Conduent is in the midst of a significant strategic transformation to position itself for long-term, sustainable, profitable market leadership. And like most transformations, we’ve had to make difficult business decisions to reinvent our company from the ground up and change the way we work. This was a vital and necessary undertaking, but in the end, it’s made us a stronger, more unified company that’s fiercely committed to investing in its future – and its people.
