Pros

Flexible schedules, above average development opportunities for middle/upper managers, good IT support and technology, Blackberrys for most managers, supports diversity (really), financially stable company with an excellent balance sheet, Gary Green may not be a warm person but he knows how to manage the money and drive business.

Cons

This is a very conservative British company, due to the nature of the business (food service) employee costs for health care and dental benefits seem high when compared to other large companies in Charlotte, tuition reimbursement program is weak, 2010 was a banner year for Compass Group but few corporate middle managers reaped rewards, this company has billions in the bank and is handing out 2% raises for high performers, an extraordinary number of the executives are British.

This job works well with work/life balance if you’re a salaried employee.

Cons

Hourly employees are not given the same respect or consideration as salaried workers. Additionally, vacation accrual is very slow, making it challenging to take time off

Hours were good - 6-2:30

Cons

The company hires you with you thinking they want your input. They don’t. Within two months I stopped trying to give them ideas. Which were good ideas given that I’ve done this roll for years. They finally added smoothies to the menu. Then wouldn’t have the ingredients I needed to make them. Management insinuated I was the reason sales were low. Not the fact that there was FREE COFFEE ON EVERY FLOOR. Finally, the discrimination. I don’t like being referred to in a sexist tone nor talked about while I’m standing right there. As if invisible. I finally left because I had a chair I would occasionally sit on given that I have a disability. Management harassed me and belittled me on this. It was ridiculous.
