Pros

Intellectual stimulation, interesting colleagues, and a great work environment are some of the factors that contribute to a satisfying work experience.

Cons

The fact that the university is huge makes for a big bureaucracy that slows things down. One needs a lot of patience.

Pros

Creative atmosphere with interesting, intelligent people. Days off are extremely generous with vacation days, personal days, and unlimited (!) sick days. Insurance is decent and accommodations for special health needs are generously given.

Cons

The pay is clearly the downside. With minimal raises given over the past years I'm making the equivalent of what I made five years ago. This has also resulted in bleed of talent to other organizations, especially New York University.
