Pros

Independent-working with people one on one in helping them making very important decisions. Great management can work as hard and as much as you like.

Cons

Really do not have benefits from company because you are self employed. Paid by commission so if you do not have deals to close you do not get paid.

Pros

After 1st year of employment - nice merit based raise Decent health benefits Nice facilities Good co-workers

Cons

Lack of opportunity to advance All the internal strangeness that can accompany a family-run business Lack of access to financial corporate information, necessary to do your job properly (financial information was "secret" and if you wanted to create a budget for your department it was denied) (I understand this company has filed for bankruptcy after alleged mismanagement of certain accounts)

Pros

Training is fantastic. Resources are wonderful. There is a weekly forum organized by one of the top office producers that is a great help to all agents. I see a cooperation between agents. Management is very professional and works hard to help agents with any need they have, be it marketing, understanding contracts, working details on a negotiation or contract.

Cons

Not so much negative about Coldwell Banker Bain as real estate sales in general. There are no benefits, no 401K, paid insurance, vacation or perks. It is hard to keep boundaries in your life in place when you have a client that has needs. It is easy to become burned out as you work hard for the next sale. Not a job for someone who cannot focus and motivate themselves.
