Pros

While I didn't enjoy many aspects of working at Code Ninjas, the kids who were good made it a lot of fun and I would always consider doing tutoring for them again at any time.

Cons

The owners of my location were terrible. They would ask for us to come in on weekends, do overtime, and refused to even email back because I was seeking a raise. There was also no system to deal with unruly kids. Kids who understood this quickly became menaces, and the owners wouldn't allow us to prevent them from paying/using the service regardless of the issues. (this included kids biting the employees, hurting other kids, cussing out other kids, etc.)

Pros

Learning opportunities for anyone interested in programming or game design. If you wanting to be a teacher it a great place to practice those skills. That being said if you are going into computer science you will be able to strengthen those skills by teaching children those fundamental concepts over and over. The work hours are very good for a student and during the summer most franchises run summer camps which can get you 40 hours a week.

Cons

Each franchise will differ. It is a new company still which is learning and adapting as they go. Expect somethings to not work correctly and instead of a fix it will just be phased out. Dealing with children is like rolling dice, you never know what you will get so some days you will be mentally drained other days its a walk in the park.

Pros

You get to be overworked for minimal pay Abysmal training (you get to learn everything from scratch on your first day) Poor sanitation (perfect for people who don't like cleaning) “Teaching kids” is rewarding when you arn’t really teaching and just babysitting If you want to be talked down to by sales driven owners who care about nothing than profit and be abused this is the perfect place to go.

Cons

Too many to list If you get a terrible owner then you might as well leave. The owner I worked for talked a lot of game about caring for the kids when the quality of teaching was never improved. If you actually cared, provide the necessary tools for your workers to be successful. Also super low pay for what you do . Honestly just a babysitting job. If you’re a coder just stay clear. Any other coder with self respect would not work here
