Pros

It used to be a good place to work. Experience looks good on a resume. ESSP was a great deal. Severance is good, when they offshore you.

Cons

In Cali, India or China it is probably an ok job. In RTP, you can be in sales or support and possibly have a future. If you are a Sr. developer in RTP, your future is limited. When you start teaching offshore replacements, be worried. Don't be surprised if you work night and weekends, have great performance reviews, and then are thrown out like old socks.

Pros

It feels great when you leave.

Cons

Managers are sweatshopping engineers trying to compete not with the marketplace but instead with other groups doing the same exact thing. What a huge waste. Being forced to work late and weekends is awful, and if you do manage to get your own work done during " normal" hours you still have to come in weekends "for the team". Apparently you dont have enough to do if you are getting your job done during the week. After all that, no raise and no bonuses for me. So I left, got 2 offers in three days elsewhere and have never been happier.

Pros

They have a relaxed remote work policy, which does make it much easier to work from home. They do give time off when needed, no questions asked, but this seems to be getting more attention lately as they are squeezing belts more.

Cons

The morale there sucks! They are squeezing people's ability to work as they used to. They have reorganized into a silo'd organization that does not allow any freedoms to work without the beaureaucratic bs. The way they do reviews is certainly not fair especially when it is tied to your bonuses. They compare you to each other and not how you have performed against your annual goals. This way they can get more work out of you and pay you less. And it is getting worse! Did I mention the morale there sucks!
