I came to Cisco because of the Exec leadership. Still strong but some questionable decisions lately
Pros
Challenging and ever changing business environment. Strong work force with lots of support and excellence all around. Very goal oriented environment. Somewhat of a meritocracy, particularly in field sales where it's all about achieving goal. Narrowed focus down to 5 key priorities is helping a lot. Getting resources put back to where they need to be. Getting out of consumer markets and reducing distillation of focus.
Cons
Far too focused on wall street market reaction. trying to make long term decisions in a short term market environment leads to getting caught in the middle. Need to stop focusing on macro issues quite so much and get back to everyday business of being the best in focused markets. in fact some of this has started to happen with core 5 priorities which has reduced the wandering and strategy-shifts quite a bit.
