Pros

Stable, good pay. Work life balance is achievable.

Cons

Alot of burracracy. Senior leadership is mostly, if not all white men. Women have been passed over for positions in the recent downsizing of the downstream business. Relationships are key to career success.

Pros

Everyone is very nice, very laid back environment. Worked as an intern in downtown Houston in 2009. 9/80 workweeks are awesome with every other Friday off. Excellent 401k benefits, even for interns.

Cons

Lots of corporate compliance meetings and so forth that seem to be very redundant in nature. Insane concern for safety, which is a good thing, but I think they take it a little too far. With the recession, they were unable to extend many offers to interns.
