Pros

Excellent work/life balance - with commitment for same from company. Excellent 401k matching program, pension plan, and profit-sharing.

Cons

Large organization that takes a long time to make decisions. Little top-down direction - too much management by committee and consensus. Company is VERY process and procedure oriented - in many cases it fels as though the comapny is spending time doing business with itself.

Pros

Chevron IT is a great place to start your career and learn about IT. The culture is phenomenal and extremely tight-knit for such a large company. Being a multi-national conglomerate with a stronghold in many fields, Chevron as a whole provides many opportunities for horizontal mobility between job roles.

Cons

It is easy to be overlooked for promotion in a big company environment. Sometimes you will find yourself surrounded by individuals who you may feel are less capable and motivated than you are.
