Pros

Organisation, structure, progression systems in place for advancement and promotion. Salary and benefits in line with peer corporations. Opportunities to excel.

Cons

Cumbersome Human Resources department driving up overheads and personnel count, especially expatriates in overseas locations to the point of being ridiculous. Bureaucratic, procedure driven and wasteful

Pros

Good pay and benefits, company-funded retirement program, very good 401K, opportunities for seeking various positions (theoretically speaking).

Cons

Focus is on the upstream business with recent significant reductions in the downstream work force. Shifting management priorities and internal focus on bureacracy and satisfying internal metrics versus the bigger picture items creates frustration and inefficiencies.
