Pros

Excellent compensation Culture of Safety Awareness Work / Life Balance Guaranteed Yearly Raises Constantly Changing Work Environment Ample Leadership Opportunities w/ Employee Networks

Cons

If you work for a service division, your ability to grow your career is limited. Moving out of a service division can be difficult. Workforce optimization often promotes people into management/supervisory positions who aren't aware of the talents of the team, and if layoffs are involved this often leads to valuable team members getting laid off.

Pros

Competitive workplace, excellent salary and benifits, profit driven, organized. Very large company after merging with Texaco so the opportunities are endless. I was very happy with my employment at Chevron and have only good things to say about them.

Cons

Corporate politics are difficult to handle sometimes but are part of the environment.
