Pros

I’ve honestly had a really great time working for Chevron. People are smart, respectful, and the company treats you well. Compensation is competitive too.

Cons

Working in the commodity business is tough. You will go through the cycles when the company scales up or down in a short period of time. A lot of people cannot handle the pressure, so if you’re looking for a stable multi-decade career with a single employer, oil and gas is probably not for you.

Pros

9/80 schedule WFH M/Friday Great benefits 10% Permian pay increase Company does a phenomenal job with family events and activities for employees.

Cons

Lack of clear direction from senior leadership is alarming. ENGINE has cut-off career ladders for hundreds of people. MW is more concerned about the dividend and keeping his job than building an E&P that will be competitive in 10 years.
