Pros

Good Trade union support against management excesses Good original work culture (rarely followed) Good safety intentions Some good leaders

Cons

Environment thrives on loyalty and not competence. Knowing the job is not half as important as talking the job You are at the mercy of your manager/supervisor Cost cut begins from slashing employee benefits and welfare before any other considerations Safety is better talked about than implemented Staged management visits: Local leaders often put up cosmetics on the true health of the Business unit to hide ailments and dissatisfaction. Company is run like a personal business
