Pros

Chevron maintains a positive environment and rewards cooperative work versus competitiveness or backstabbing. Lots of opportunities for career growth if you're willing to chronically relocate. Location flexibility is growing and partial remote work exists now.

Cons

Chevron targets 50th percentile in pay amongst its competitors, so nothing special here. The workload is unending and large, so assert yourself. Work the priorities and tune out pushy managers as best you can. It's also gone hardcore unto corporate wokeness, so expect a periodic lecture on pronouns, BLM, or gender identity on occasion. Finally, the company is in denial about the ascendancy if EVs and alternative fuel vehicles. There's a lot of insistence that gasoline will only have minor competition from alt fuels in the long run but even a cursory look at auto maker's plans and the regulatory environment says otherwise.
