Pros

Health/Dental/Vision, On-Site healthcare, Nice Cafe

Cons

Stressful environment: noisy, glass cube walls, somewhat chaotic. I will probably only be here a short time. I wouldnt consider Centene to be a place where you would have a long time "career". From what I have seen so far there doesnt seem to be many long time employee's left.

Pros

Good salary, good health benefits, preventative wellness program, healthy inexpensive cafeteria food, nurse on-site, opportunities to win tickets to sporting events (employee pays a $15 fee for baseball games at the Co. suite) and concerts, including the Fox theater

Cons

Sometimes managers with "get it done at all costs" attitudes and who have poor people/line management skills are promoted very quickly; there is also a lot of "good ole boy" favoritism; the work/deliverables is daunting---the overlap of projects can be overwhelming. Training is a "ask for it and you might be approved basis" else it's up to the employee to figure outtheir career path and request and obtain training, while still maintaining their exisiting job. If there is an HR issue brought to the attention of some managers, they will discipline the person bringing the issue to the attention of management. Do your job, get it done, "d--- the torpedos, full steam ahead!"

Low morale and awful leadership.

Pros

Work from home. I get paid. There are some very talented people here who actually care.

Cons

This company shows over and over they do not care about employees. Leadership is just awful. They often make poor decisions and play the blame game, when they should have not ignored their teams and gotten more input from the people doing the work. I have never worked anywhere where leadership talks down to and so rudely to employees. There is zero strategy, only chasing fires. Things won't improve in that way. You can't have a successful company if you don't care about your employees. The messaging here is demoralizing. Always pushing how important our members are - but its clearly about the money not the members - and you cant serve your members well with unhappy employees. They fire high-level leaders when things aren't going well and bring in new leaders who make the same mistakes and ignore input outside of the high level leadership bubble.
