Pros

Flexible schedules and long layovers. Outport base only has one route so flight times are consistent

Cons

Cathay Pacific pays significantly lower than any other airlines outside. If you're outport base, you will only fly one route to Hong Kong. Company has been cutting more and more every year. Company culture is a bit hard to work with if you are more Americanized (Probably better to go with United, Delta or AA). Benefits are very expensive compared to other airlines.

good training opportunities with different aircraft types; standard airline travel benefits; there are opportunities for internal transfer within the same department or to a different department

Cons

bonding is required for training, and not consistent among staff; roster is 5 on 2 off with off days not fixed and often times 2 off days are apart (roster can also change any time without staff awareness in advance); no confirmation for annual leave plan; top quality international with local salary range;

It is part of oneworld alliance so when you travel leisurely, you are flexible in the type of airlines you can fly with. Family have up to 24 flight segments to use.

Cons

Long haul flights can be tiring. The culture is very bureaucratic which is discouraging when it comes to personal growth.
