The only reason Caterpillar would be a good place to work is if you have a relative there who handed you a career you didn't have to earn.

Cons

Caterpillar blatantly lies about opportunites for advancement. Caterpillar has total disregard for state labor laws. Will blackmail employees whenever possible. Caterpillar has no concern for employee satisfaction. If your unhappiness saves Caterpillar a penny, you won't be happy.

The people are very welcoming and friendly. Pay is good for the area

Cons

Moving from hybrid to 5 days onsite. No flexibility has been offered. If you value time with your family or have any responsibilities outside of work this company isn't for you. If you have no personal life, its a great fit! The whole return to office has been managed extremely poorly and the entire workforce are demotived

Work is good. Lot of responsibilities are given.

Cons

But long timers to hide their shortcomings do lot of politics. Lot of feminists around and upper management protects them since they are long timers. They play with the job of people by threatening harassment complaints. Advice to inquire about the team before joining.
