Pros
Associates have great training, management feedback getting better with CIP rollout, great job security as long as your an associate doing what is required within your job description. Great benefits
Cons
Folliard turned out just to be a comedian, not a leader. Company felt like they needed " Change " and are re-structuring everything at such a fast pace. Carmax has always believed in change and staying ahead of the competition but now its without employee or management feed back, which is what made this company so great in the past. They selected a few senior managers from the field, stuck them in corporate and now their the ones changing things for the worse. ( 1 ) CIP.. while its saving Carmax a ton of money, its destroying employee's financially and emotionally. Carmax blames the high efficiences on the commissioned associates. Lets be clear, in order to be have a high efficiency, a cosmetic supervisor, RPM, TPM or Ops Mgr had to of approved the work. UNIONS! Heres a prime time to get into Carmax. Just find a detailer, painter, prepper, mechanic and ask them their thoughts about CIP. Have a card ready..lol Then the company has changed the whole management program and you basically have to guide yourself through a program called MAP without senior management or RVP support. These changes are happening too rapidly and without employee or store management feedback. last it is very sad to see people like Ed Hill not stand up and run operations like he should. He's kissing Tom's ass and losing the respect from his management team across the country. p.s. You should of kept your recon techs.. It's a shame that you canned them so that you could create a new team at an hourly rate a few years later.. Look! Dent Wizard is eating your lunch financially.
