Pros

CarMax is absolutely an amazing company to work for. I was a Customer Experience Manager at the Tempe, AZ Contact Center for 5 years and loved every day of it because of it's culture that was consistent across it's 250+ stores and Contact Centers. What stood out most was the 'people-first' focus; CarMax invests in its team, providing so many opportunities for development and advancement. I was consistently impressed by the company's dedication to innovation and process improvement, ensuring we always delivered the best possible customer experience. The leadership team is approachable and values open communication, creating a positive and inclusive work environment. It was beyond impressive to meet so many tenured peers who have been with CarMax for 10+ years and still love it. Compensation across all levels was generous and competitive. I highly recommend CarMax to anyone seeking a lifelong rewarding career with a company that truly cares.

Cons

One area for potential improvement could be the enhancement of parental leave policies to better align with industry-leading standards.

commission based pay, good personality types to work with

constant risk of losing job due to quota goals, base pay for commission, not too friendly of an environment for women

Great work environment for the younger crowd. Good managment and industry leading sales training and resources.

Cons

A lot of things to keep up with as a Sales Consultant and it can be easy to start racking up points that can lose you your job if you are not careful. Do not recommend taking this as a second job.
