Pros

Clean, professional environment, alot of different cars to sell,

Cons

Low pay compared to everywhere else in the Automotive Industry, Favoritism, Managers who don't care about you or your success, Managers who only care about bonus and favor tenure/seniority, Blatant lies about 125 point inspection, A lot of cars have issue, Lazy inventory team, nitpicky managers who feel need to constantly report on your work style. Carmax seems to have a revolving door policy of constantly cycling through new associates instead of trying to develop longstanding employees who earn good money. They do this by only giving the best leads to the senior associates and favorites. The rest have to rely heavily on foot traffic leads.

Pros

It's a fun job and they will train you in everything you need to know, there is a healthy competition on the sales floor and the managers genuinely care about the sales floor

Cons

When it's slow.... you don't make money
