- If you are rehire then think twice. The company seems not very interested in rehiring the Talent as the stubborn HR and management will start quoting some stupid rehiring norms at the time of giving offer and after making you go through all the hiring processes. - Work location now shifting to remote part of Airoli

Pros

- Many individual team members were exceptionally motivated and talented. - Work-life balance is often better than other consultancies.

Cons

- More discrimination than I have seen in any other modern corporate environment. Asian and Black staff treated like garbage and insulted behind their backs. Gay members of staff are targeted to be managed out as soon as their orientation becomes obvious. Women treated entirely as a way to charm clients and entirely absent from senior management. - Relationship with clients depends heavily on manipulating profit margins and overcharging for staff with very little experience. Profits seem to heavily rely on manipulation of margins and selling undertrained staff as being several grades above their actual grade. Actual work that is delivered is usually garbage - need to get used to everyone outside the management of your clients despising you as all of Cap's energy is focused on finding naive members of middle/senior management to target in order to sell more roles. - Managers totally disconnected from what's going on with their staff. - Total lack of interest in career development of staff. - 'Clique' atmosphere where hotel culture means that having dinner with the right people is the path to promotion. - Terrible pay and insultingly small increments.

Capgemini people are the worst. They always have blown up and fictitious title such as oracle lead of NA or some alliance manager but in reality the people in these position are there because of the years they served not their capability. In fact, their capability is below normal. While I was at Capgemini, I was staffed at a large clothing retail shop in SF and then a major defense company in Wisconsin. The first project is better but I had no work to do. The thing with Capgemini is that the first years always do PMO roles which is never good for career. In fact, you will never get promoted. On my second project, a lot of people were hired just for the project. In fact their background check process is so questionable that I saw another manager on the team arrested for child molestation, which totally changed my view of the company. In another instance, a senior manager was harassing a hotel staff and asking her to go to his room with him. The reason why I know is because I became friends with the hotel staff and because the town is small, there was only 2 hotel. In addition, the managers on the project also made sexist and racist comments while I was there. In addition, there was another manager who was hired but he they never verified his college education. In fact the manager had never completed the college degree and was textbook salesman before joining Capgemini to lead IT projects. The guy was ultimately fired after 1 year (Capgemini is very trigger happy). In addition to horrible people and horrible project, Capgemini also has a lack of projects and lack of training. Everyone at Capgemini languish and there is never a say as to what you can do with the company. i have seen strategy people staffed on IT project and hating themselves because of it. The managers are either tyrants or passive aggressive. In the first year, you never expect a rating of better than 3 no matter how hard you try. Capgemini promotes their people when they reach the 2nd year but it was never about performance. It's always about the tenure. However, as people reach their 3rd and 4th year, no promotions are handed out. Effectively, you can stay at senior consultant forever. I've seen many cases like it. In fact, the senior manager on my last project has been a senior manager for the past 15 years and still is. You should avoid this company at all cost especially if you are a college grad. You will almost get a better experience anywhere else than Capgemini. Not only is Capgemini 3rd or 4th rated (all the losers from IBM - a principal on the last project I worked at is from IBM and he has zero professionalism making mean jokes about everyone - go to Capgemini. No one from Accenture ever joins), but they never develop their people. On another note, Accenture has 1% default possibility going forward but Capgemini has 30%. Accenture projects are much better managed and the processes are there but Capgemini doesn't have anything. They have what is called KX (knowledge exchange) but no one ever goes there. No one ever respects Capgemini people. They are Accenture but much much MUCH lower quality and I cannot stress that enough. The compensation is below par (about 30% below Accenture's) and the health benefit is expensive (much more than Accenture's). In addition, there is no career opportunities and the culture is simply not there. The attrition rate is sky high. They laid off the middle and upper management awhile ago to please shareholders and are now retraining new consultants. But the new consultants don't go anywhere because the last of the big legacy guys are still there running the show. It's never a place to be. It's pretty clear from the rating (3.1/5) that this company sucks. This is almost like the company Kroll or ADT. Any decent company, like Accenture, has at least 3.5 and up.
