Good but be careful

Pros

Good place to start career with a solid company name to put on your resume also. In theory decent structure. Good young environment in office. Lot of good people. Lot of opportunities to learn. Alot of your co-workers want to help you. Work/life balance is pretty solid especially relative to other companies. Even if you get stuck with a tougher client its still really not too bad relative to other companies.

Cons

Alot of the organization is better in theory/on paper than the actual reality of it. Constant shuffling of hierarchy. Ceiling on how far you can rise in the company, the best employees I know all were gone within 2 years of joining. Everything comes down to avoiding the bench at all costs for any extended period of time even if they will disingenuously tell you "we really try to avoid at all costs laying off Grade A employees" or "it takes being on the bench for close to a year to be vulnerable to lay-offs". Alot of their problems stem from way overhiring a few years ago, not knowing what to do when the tech bubble burst, and they are still feeling the effects of that 18-24 months later.

Pros

Good training opportunities Very supporting onsite team Extremally Poor offshore

Cons

It is not one company, instead its a group of companies under one umbrella, operating in their own world and fighting among themselves. No one works for Capgemini, instead everyone works for their practice and only think of ways benefitting their practice. Practice is least bothered about delivery and the only focus is to put people on projects as soon as possible, even if that means snatching the position from other practice. There is no vision from the sr. leadership for the client and everything revolves around practice and improvement of the practice only. Horizontals are always fighting and do not care about verticals at all.

Poor compensation and benefits, poor management

Pros

Big projects and names to work with. Nice office in Marina Bay financial centre tower 3 even though its just for show. If you're here for exposure and leaning, OK not bad, but you prob wont stay long cause you will hatenthat this company does not value your labour and you will buey tahan both upper and middle management

Cons

Low compensation compared to competitors and other tech companies in Singapore. No AWS, no variable bonus, strange for consultancy which wont matter if the base pay is high but spoiler alert its not lol. Annual compensation probably lower by about 10-15% at very least. Benefits are lacking also with low amount of annual leave - - 15 days, no birthday leave. Covid year they forced nonbillable employees to take almost all 15 days and if we dont have enough, our next year leave would be deducted. This was done without consulting employees. Management does not prioritise people and it shows through the pay and benefits and decisions. HR also very slow. Tthey award promotions also quite slow: Associate consultant takes 2 years before becoming consultant. Before the 2 years just use your Capgemini portfolio and Capgemini upgraded skills to find another job and your pay will increase faster and you will realise how valued you actually are in another company. Some middle management are also quite inexperienced but what to do they probably got hired because the company cannot afford better and more experienced managers/senior employees
