Pros

You can't beat the flexibility to choose your own schedule. Teach as much or as little as you wish. Lessons are pre-made, so there's no lesson planning needed (unless you choose to)

Cons

The compensation is very low. If you need a little extra cash on the side, this is fine, but it's not sustainable long-term. If you genuinely want to teach/tutor international learners on a long-term basis, just apply for a job abroad that will pay you much, much more and is a better use of your time.

Pros

Meeting people from all over the world. Can approach job casually and choose not to invest in lesson planning.

Cons

Pay is terrible. The cost of living has doubled and tripled, and this pay is still 17 cents per minute. They have never given anyone a raise. It is unethical. The platform takes advantage of paying badly since some teachers live in other countries where the USD is of higher value and their value of life is not bad. There are plenty of teachers living in the US and other countries where the USD is not of higher value and are struggling.
