Teach from home

Pros

I enjoy the flexibility of being able to teach at my own convenience without having to leave home. I also enjoy meeting people from around the world.

Cons

The pay is not that great. Also, no guarantee of full hour pay during priority hour. It depends on how many calls are received as well as the duration of the call.

Pros

Flexibility is enjoyable, working from home is nice Meeting people from around the world.

Cons

Constantly being blamed for their technical problems. It takes 2 seconds for them to reprimand you but 3 days for them to reply back if you try to fight it. Most of the time they blame you. Reservations appearing that you did not confirm. Or reservations being booked by nonregular students when you put down regular students only. (Don't contact support though, they will just blame you yet again) Priority hours being scheduled that you did not pick, then you being "released" from those hours because you are nowhere near your computer. I am only on here because of my internet speed. The minute the internet is improved in my location I am gone.

Pros

It's trully a privilege to speak to English language from literally all over the world.

Cons

You can't count on speaking with students as a newbe and increase your overall rating (so students will want to talk to you) if you do not have what they call 'Priority Hours.' This means that unless you can get those priority hours, your 'new talent' personal written designation, (which takes the place of your rating) is not profiled in the way that students will ever contact you, so you can waste your time 'waiting for a call' and a few dollars to come in, I don't know what the problem is. I think newbies are possibly not getting calls because they could have recently hired too much of us. Obviously don't depend on this job too much at all. I knew it would never be a money maker' for me but I don't like spending hours waiting online for a call 'that might come in.' This is especially the case when I am a newcommer to the company.
