Great platform and good students to speak to.

Pros

Very interesting work speaking to students from across the globe. This certainly is my style of teaching.

Cons

Not enough students come through to me in a Priority Hour. I also find it difficult to communicate with the 'Support' department, as I do not always get my questions or difficulties answered.

Pros

Flexible hours (you pick what works for you and you can decide at the last minute if you want to work a priority hour. No requirement for the number of hours you work. Work as much or as little as you want. Weekly PayPal pay every Monday as long as you make over 20 bucks for the week. Meeting people from all over the world.

Cons

Trial calls can be awkward. I think they can leave feedback for you, which can easily lower your score. They aren't paying for the service so they can say whatever they want. Pay is only 17 cents per minute and there is never a guarantee of how many calls you will get so you cannot anticipate a certain amount each week.

Pros

The people are great! As a new tutor you have to wade your way through some annoying trial users, and of course you won't click with every student, but this is usually obvious to both parties. A few weeks in I get to hang out with people I consider friends and make money. I've learned a lot about Saudi Arabian culture, Korea, Taiwan, and just today an a very pleasant Italian guy explained the his government to me. Also you can take it anywhere with internet and you genuinely make your own schedule. No minimums.

Cons

The money. I live in Colombia right now, so it's enough to survive, but in the states this would be side hustle at best. Unless you wanted to work all the time, which I think would be socially exhausting.
