It was a very interesting experience, well paid for a foreign architect, big interesting projects and good work-life balance

Cons

There weren't much cons in this office in Beijing, besides the typical cultural difference that foreigners encounter in China

Pros

I have been able to learn a lot about architecture since I have been here. Office culture is good and is getting better. Benefits have improved over the years. Work-life balance is improving, however, when there are deadlines, the balance goes away.

Cons

Some of the challenges are making sure the right staff is hired with the right skillsets. Sometimes companies hire warm bodies, and that is not always a good thing.
