More cons than I could possibly write here. As a front store staff member at CVS your job is literally anything and everything that could happen in the store. Especially as an ops manager. Responsible for everything with time for a third of what actually needs done. That is, if everyone is trained, experienced, and no call-offs/vacations with decent scheduling. That of course is extremely rare.
Everything is urgent and nothing ever gets finished, and if it does, it's not on time or done properly or correctly. The expectations are all over the place and unclear.
Tasks are physically impossible to complete according to quotas and expectations of management and corporate. Staffing is always at the bare minimum to adhere to policy of not closing the store alone. Customers are always (understandably) upset due to long wait times, confusion, and illogical policies and staff has to de-escalate daily due to no fault of their own. Simply, the workload and scope of responsibilities for a single front store employee is completely unrealistic and not attainable and leads to stress and high turnover.
A list of some of my responsibilities as a front store employee at a high-volume store, with 19 aisles packed with product, working with one other person is listed below. This is not everything, just what I could think of at the time:
