Pros

Excellent Local Pharmacy Management, Very flexible schedule and very much concenred about you personally. Good atmosphere and fun peopel to work with on a daily basis.

Cons

Can be very fast paced, You must take care of the customers no matter what they are like. Young summer help can be challenging. You will be on your feet for your entire shift.

Pros

good pay if you come in at a high rate, excellent choice of medical benefits to chose from. If you happen to get good, caring pharmacists the experience will be enjoyable. If your are luck enough to have or find and hire an experienced photo lab manager, the experience will be enjoyable.

Cons

Typical retail cons, long hours for you, not enough hours for a staff. If you have miserable pharmacists, your life will be miserable as they are pretty much untouchable and impact 60-70% of your business. During payroll crunches, you may be forced to "trim the fat" starting with your longest tenured and highest paid employees under the guise of write ups leading to termination. Finding experienced photo lab managers is a challenge.

Pros

Once you become a Manager, you make your own schedule. Time off is not a problem. Cvs does let you run the buisness, and the customer always comes first. They give you a lot of merchandising freedom.

Cons

Downsides are the promotion process. It is very easy to be promoted if you are a favorite. You do not need great skills to move up in the company. The ones who shine are kept in the district to make the DM look good and the ones who are dispensible move up to run field ops. I had the highest customer service score out of 138 stores and the one with a 68 eventually became a DM.
