CVS is a full service retail pharmacy that provides tremendous health services through pharmacy services, and convienent access to many needed personal items. The smaller store size allows for better interactions with both customers and employees than in a big box retailer. This environment provides far better job satisfaction for a hands-on manager. The number of locations and areas in which stores are located allow the manager to get to know their area and customer base and presents the opportunity for strong leaders to build the business and make decisions to grow on this opportunity.

Cons

Leaner staffing, especially on the management side, make for tenuous times during management turnover. Payroll contraints tend to be more severe than some of the competition, and at times this can effect customer service. Other than that, the main downsides are the same as any other type of retailer. Some things will be better and some worse than compared to other retail outlets. Retail is retail and if you fully understand and accept that, you will find CVS a very pleasant place to work.

Pros

I enjoy working with my co-workers and I've become attached to most of my costumers. My hours are good and the stock ourchase plan is worth having. The store that I work in is a fun store and we support each other through everthing.

Cons

The money is not good at all. I train the pharmacy interns and they start out making more money then me. It's really a slap in the face. If I were to make more money than I would have the best job.
