Pros

Great pay. Great benefits. Good people working. Stable company with progressive approach to growth. Training was pretty good. On the job training.

Cons

As an assistant manager, you are a glorified stocker. That all I did was unload a truck and stock. Also the hours they expect or horrible. Be prepared to work all holidays.

Pros

somewhat flexible hours, nationwide company, CVS pays for certification, decent benefits, many locations, good team work, decent employee discounts and prices

Cons

Anyone who works in retail pharmacy knows it is VERY STRESSFUL! But CVS makes it especially hard by working its employees to death with no reward at the end of the day. Pharmacists have to work 10 to 12 hour shifts WITH NO LUNCH BREAKS! Technicians are overworked and underpaid. At our store we fill close to 4,000 prescriptions weekly. Every day I come to work there are about 4-5 pages in the queue and it has been getting worse since they recently cut technician hours so we are always screwed. CVS wants to save money buy cutting hours because they are greedy corporate pigs and ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. The CEO makes 18 million a year. I make 14,000. HORRIBLE!!!!!! I am PTCB certified, been with CVS over 2 years and have been begging them for a raise but still haven't seen 1 cent increase. Our store was given hundreds of coupons for uninsured patients to discount their drugs and the DM came and threw all the coupons away!! She said it was costing CVS money! Apparently CVS' money is more important than helping people who can't afford medication. I hate going to work every day I wish I could quit but it is too hard to find another job. My advice to you is if you are considering CVS, DON'T DO IT! I don't know a single CVS employee who is happy with their job. TWO THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
