Pros

NONE. I am a 3 decade retail Pharmacist and would not consider having a prescription filled at CVS. This is a very dangerous environment.

Cons

Extremely minimal paid training. Tons of online training required on your own time. No pay for it. Unless you want to be thrown into a busy store with untrained help and expected to figure it out as you go with a line at pick up, drop off and drive through virtually all day, STAY AWAY. Full timers and pharmacy managers are ALWAYS behind and working long hours (salaried exempt so unpaid) to get the mounds of required paperwork done and even just to finish the workload. I floated for a few weeks and did not meet anyone who was happy with CVS as an employer.

Pros

Good salary, good benefits, flexibility to transfer to another store if relocation is necessary, most of my co-workers are wonderful people to work with

Cons

Upper management is totally out of touch with workload and staffing. I'm in a slow store and have no help on the weekend. It's extremely difficult to fill all of the automatic refills and scripts from walk-in patients, answer the phone, ring people up at the register, deal with insurance problems, count all of the CII drugs for the monthly audit, scan all of the prescriptions that haven't been picked up yet, order what is needed from our wholesaler, scan out of stocks for the warehouse order, review the warehouse order to make sure we are getting what we need, and make approximately 50 calls to patients to see if they need refills on their scripts. Apparently I'm also supposed to function without eating or visiting the restroom.
