Decent pay

Pros

The pay is good for drugstore retail.

Cons

If you want to succeed don’t go to tough markets. You’ll be given inadequate support, but held to the same standards as stores with that do the same volume in a much nicer area and have the same hours. If you work in an inner city with high crime you’ll be given 400 hours and a store in a nicer area will have the same payroll or more based on prior year numbers. Even if you perform the same functions, but you have 250,000 in external shrink you’ll be expected to operate cfr( which is 100% more time consuming that demand doesn’t factor in all the pilferage and ap reports you have to process). Dms don’t understand. How can you operate a business if you have to repair the store after it is completely destroyed everyday? 400 hours is not enough to face, throw load, planos, cfr, and seasonal. No one cares or understands.

Staff Pharmacist

Pros

Employee Stock Insurance Vacation Medical and other LOAs

Cons

Work in a “sweat shop”, rarely with any lunch or break time. Too much is crammed into the pharmacist workflow, that can lead to misfills. Overwhelming number of metrics to keep up with. It is truly “analysis to paralysis” in this company. Extremely short-staffed, even during flu & vaccination season last year. No additional pharmacy tech support was provided, which was terrible working conditions. Unrealistic expectations with pharmacy workload. Too many PCQ calls!!!. If someone up the ladder would finally see the real world or pharmacy, and perhaps less focused on bonuses, and would adequately staff their pharmacies, instead of overloading their pharmacy staff, work life at CVS Health would be much more tolerable, and patients would get taken care of better.

Pros

1.Having a job to pay my bills 2. Autonomy to a certain degree

Cons

1. Silently forced by upper management to keep patients happy by giving antibiotics to patients who don't really need it. Scared to say "I don't think you need an antibiotic, for your dry cough that you have had for 2 days". 2. See above. We give the antibiotics anyway, because we are terrified of getting a complaint or negative review. 3. Passing everyone on DOT physical even if not qualified because you don't want to have to explain why they were upset and gave you a negative review.
