Company has been run into the ground

Pros

Had great benefits to start but slowly went away as the top dogs sucked the life out of the company with their extravagant retirement, benefits and HUGE bonuses.

Cons

Greedy top dogs that ruined the company but wrote themselves a wonderful "golden parachute" agreement to be fully vested in all retirement, benefits and financial plans and continue to receive their hefty bonuses into next year (2018) for running the company into the ground.

Pros

The work is very flexible. You are able to work from home 1 to 2 days a week after 6 months - 1 year with the company. This is about the only pro to the job. Decent benefits.

Cons

Within the GE Aviation program (Evendale, OH), management is all over the place and it is frustrating to try and keep up with what exactly they want. They will tell you one thing and do another. There is also high turnover within this program, and for good reason. Morale is very low and they do not care to try and fix this. The office is in a basement and is a horrible environment. Beware taking a job here as you will likely regret it.

Pros

You know that movie Office Space? How it's hilarious? I guess my experience was a little like that...hilarious.

Cons

My experience may have been uniquely bad--I didn't stay long enough to find out (after 8 months the government reabsorbed our contract). Essentially my boss had just read that book "Who Stole My Cheese" and was doing his best to use all of us new hires as his very own stepping stones upon which to tread all over. While working there I was subject to daily bullying, I was mocked openly and put down regularly for my appearance and personality (and I'm not someone who has ever had issues with either in the work place...) He literally called me a "monkey" and made jesters at me like we all would have done as children if impersonating chimpanzees... His main problem with me? The actual scientist that oversaw our department on the government side pegged me as one of the smarter folks on our staff and complimented me regularly at meetings. Ooooh how he hated that. As for HR? Well you can imagine how that went. When the government took over our contract I pocketed the severance check and bowed out--it's never felt better to walk away from a company. Ah, corporate greed ;]
