Pros

- Good salary conditions, including overtime pay - Opportunity to travel, if desired. - Flexible hours, ability to work from home - Working at an industry leader - Modern workspace - Diversity of opportunity.

Cons

- Company is understaffed. That has a good side, as it means that the company is growing, but it also means, especially in the short term, that the workload is over 40 hours/week. - Heavy middle-management structure. Too many "bosses" in a matrix-style organization which creates inefficiencies. - Parking is extremely challenging. - Access to public transport is limited. There is a shuttle service starting up, but it only runs certain hours.

Pros

Flexible hours, remote working (1 day/week, when schedule allows), good benefits, lots of paid overtime, travel/relocation opportunities, modern offices (still underway for parts of the building), culture and values slowly changing for the better with various initiatives from management, and of course the product is pretty awesome.

Cons

Only 2 weeks vacation, big workload (good for overtime, bad for stress/pressure), old culture still somewhat visible and is what you'd expect from a big old corporation, decades of technical debt that we don't have time to fix, and outdated or inconvenient IT tools.

Modernizing

Pros

Over the past few years CAE has put a lot of effort into modernization of the workplace. The workspace for the majority of Employees in montreal has been changed to an open work area without assigned seating. There are now modern concepts like 'quiet rooms', treadmill and standing desks, lots of light, social areas, a rooftop terrace, free electric vehicle charging spots, free metro-shuttle and many more that complemented the existing benefits such as flex-time work hours.

Cons

With a constantly growing and changing business, it can sometimes be difficult to keep up, but the benefits outweigh the downsides!
