Going downhill fast, terrible VPs

Pros

6 Weeks + of PTO US health benefits are solid. Good maternity/paternity leave - paid

Cons

VPs drive too many decisions, and make them with zero understanding of the people, products. or the consequences. They also with no accept the blame when their initiatives fail because they were illogical. Pay - pay is below average, though they tout this "we always pay the median" policy. You will never be able to hire the best and brightest nor keep your super stars with mediocre pay. Canadian bias - There is a clear ceiling if you are not based in Montreal. There is an unspoken requirement that senior leadership must be based in Montreal. Conflicting with the global company image, and that the teams are not based in Montreal due to cost... It's a manufacturing company. Unfortunately this means a manufacturing company trying to play tech company. They do not know how to manage SaaS products. HR issues - while HR is typically terrible, HR here is incompetent in most regions. Product switching - Company is a firm believer in moving people around every few years. This can range from individual contributors to mid level leaders. True SMEs can't exist in this model... No prioritization - Company is incapable of choosing priorities. take a hard "do everything, all at once, all the time" stance and a certain VP even made the claim that CAE never has to settle for only some, we can do everything. Keep in mind teams will never be scaled up to ingest a higher workload.
