good idea, poor implementation
Pros
A wide global footprint, variety of cultures opinions and mindsets, a lot of excellent qualified people who are willing to help, particularly if one makes an effort to understand what needs to be done and why. Company provides training, assuming one will have time to take it. Possibility to define your further career step and land an international assignment. An opportunity to learn A LOT. Top notch Controller's group.
Cons
Political, people get hired/ promoted for having right contacts, not for experience, skill set and potential value adding. More scrutiny is needed into hiring process and matching candidate to particular roles/ teams. Men are promoted more over women and paid higher, which spreads a poor vibe and reduces diversity on management team. Bunge is a complex business and there is a lot of talent turnover due to poor talent retention. Due to it's complexity, it takes a while to learn how Bunge functions, so qualified talent leaving is detrimental and therefore, the wheel needs to be reinvented over and over again, which is a constant distraction from goal attainment. Company culture needs to be more defined and respected. Jobs need to be posted for more than 3 days and qualified candidates (whether internal or external) need to be interviewed for those roles by a variety of people. More work is being spread over less staff which exhausts and demotivates resources as well as adds job security concerns. More management needs to be qualified leaders. Will still recommend working there just because of variety of possible opportunities and learning one can get. Hopefully the rest will be fixed soon.
